Because it’s been almost a year since the birth of Lily, I haven’t been spending very much time on matters of pregnancy and birth. I did give a recommended pregnancy reading list recently, but thought now I’d share a great site with loads of birth stories, many of them being really beautiful! It’s called Women in Charge and you can read it here.

I think it’s important for all women to have knowledge about birth or labour before they get there. As they say, “knowledge is power”. But then, at the same time, other people’s stories shouldn’t be taken on as your own. Good or bad. Read the stories, but remember to separate yourself from them.

I fully believe that we create our own experiences. Birth is one of the most powerful experiences of our lives, and I hope that anyone who is pregnant or hoping to be, can read these stories from Women in Charge, and use the information and advice to create their own dream birth.

PS. Thanks to Gauri (from the new and improved Loving Earth Mama) for sharing this blog with us.
