MADE WITH LOVE: Giraffe rattle

by Kerryn on October 19th, 2010

A while ago I made two little soft giraffe rattles for Georgie and Lily.   I didn’t sew the ears of Georgie’s giraffe very well though and the ears pulled out after about a day!  So now hers looks more like a worm than a giraffe.  She doesn’t seem to care and it is one of her favourite toys to chew.  It makes me so happy to see her enjoying something that I made.

The pattern for the rattle comes from from an awesome book that I own called Simple Sewing for Baby, by Lotta Jansdotter.  She has a really lovely selection of easy clothes, toys and soft accessories.  I really want to set aside more time to sew Georgie other bits and pieces.  I think the next project that I should do is a simple dress with “pocket friend”; a little toy that is attached by a cord to the pocket.  How cool is that clothes with built-in toys!
